You're going to E3? Take me with you!

Ah, glorious E3--it's like a Summer Christmas. Every year, I go get myself a lux coffee, come home, and park myself in front of the computer to see what squeal-inducing goodies the industry has in store for me. In between the major presentations holding my rapt attention, I chat with fellow gamers on IGN, text my gamer buddies, and just generally share the joy with anyone that will listen. E3 is here!

My homemade Kirby tries to drop a few in preparation for E3

Being a girl in this world is a fun experience because it is a more unique one. None of my girlfriends particularly care what sort of tech is going to become standard on the next wave of flat-screens or have any interest on the development of the next Zelda game. This only makes the Electronics Entertainment Expo more delicious. It’s a Blue Heaven for me. I get the opportunity to be surrounded by compatriots of the “nerd world”, even if only via the internet. I get positively woozy with the delightful thought of being there in person. Would I dare bust out the old Halloween costumes to cosplay as Peach or Zelda? I might just be overcome with sheer glee and have to do it—who knows.

Kirby gave up the excercising--he put on my Link hat and is trying to decide if he wants to play Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess

The euphoria aside, E3 is serious business. I can’t recount the times I’ve been in the game section of a store and had more information than the salespeople. Thank you, E3. For those of us that have to be at the horizon of incoming glory from the electronics world, there is no missing  every aspect of coverage available to us from E3. I find myself acting as a reporter for the event most of the time. And I’m pretty sure that my enthusiasm has weirded out a Target employee or two at times; “No—it’s going to have a touch-screen controller! Can you imagine such a thing! That Nintendo, I swear.”

Wii would like more shelves for our goodies

I can’t help being a video game junkie. I was playing games when I was just a wee-thing at the age of two (Or should I say Wii-thing? Too puny?). Mario has always been and will always be my homeboy, and feminism sheminism, I will always idolize Princess Peach. I couldn’t get enough of the Mario and Zelda cartoons. That shiny gold Zelda cart really seemed like it had some kind of magic cast on it. To a pre-schooler, anyway. I always had the Nintendo systems, and my cousin always had the Sega consoles. I liken this to brother against brother in the Civil War; I’m pretty sure they’re basically the same thing. We swapped systems back and forth, though, so I experienced it all. I jumped on the first Playstation, but I credit Super Mario World for making me a hardcore gamer. I was there the day the Nintendo 64 launched as soon as I got out of my 4th grade class. I wasn’t heard from again for a solid two weeks, as I was helping Mario fly across various paintings and whatnot. I played GoldenEye competitively (very well, I might add).  I spent the night in line for a GameCube. I spent many fruitless nights in line for my Wii until I got my hot little hands on one. What with this new-fangled internet, it was easier than ever to become totally submersed in the gaming world. I find I prefer this world; it’s even better than World 1-1, as a matter of fact.

I <3 Gaming

From the time I tried to shoot that stupid dog for laughing at me when I was a toddler to trying to see if it was, in fact, possible to shoot Navi with an arrow when I was in middle school, all these years later, gaming still has my heart. The nostalgic love I have for it coupled with the ever-evolving wonders of technology it presents never ceases to bring the proverbial tear to my eye. I’ve spent many happy days with that Sega-cousin of mine’s kids playing Playstation 3 and Kinect with them, as well as snapping some should-be-illegal-they’re-so-funny snapshots in Brawl. Gaming is honestly part of who I am, and that’s been the case all my life. That being said, being at E3 in person would be nirvana, and I crave the responsibility and honor of getting to herald the news from the front lines.

So, IGN, I would try to be a valuable sidekick. I will not shout "Hey! Listen!" in your face, nor will I step into enemy fire seemingly on purpose while you escort me through E3. But don't take me with you based on any of this. Choose me because Kirby really, really wants to attend.

Kirby decided on Link's Crossbow Training, apparently

Take me (and Kirby) to E3, IGN!

Zelda Wedding Toppers and Useless Babble

Too cute!

So, I long ago designed my Mario/Peach themed wedding and Link/Zelda themed reception (nope, not engaged, not seeing anyone--I'm a typical girl, okay?), and I have a Mario/Peach cake worked up to go with it. Well a friend of mine and I were talking about the little secondary or groom's cakes. Naturally, I figured this one should be Zelda themed if the main cake is Mario themed. Check this stuff out:

Toon Link says YAY! Adorable little cake toppers.

I did't even think of this--nice.

...This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

People always get the wrong idea when I tell them about my dream Nintendo wedding--"Oh you want one of those geek weddings." NO! I shudder every time I see some of the pictures of people that have done something like this--and they take it too far (okay, so *maybe* I *would* like to cut the cake with the Master Sword). I want a very very formal, old-fashioned in a church with a preacher wedding--I just found long ago that the wedding dresses I favor look like Peach's (minus the poofy sleeves), so I thought my theme would just be Nintendo and I would style my dress after hers and then the cake yadda yadda. And since Zelda's dress is usually less showy than Peach's, I would use hers for the reception...and since that's a party, my groom has to wear the "Magic Armor". Heh.

What am I even babbling about? I have no idea. I just played through Twilight Princess again, and I'm waiting for the recording I made of it to be saved in one big file on my computer, so I needed something to do while I wait lol. I do miss old LiveJournal at times like this XD

And with that...I be you adieu :)

Zelda: The Western

How much do I love browsing Dorkly? A lot, is the answer. A trailer for a Zelda Western series:

http://www.dorkly.com/embed/42225/a-fistful-of-rupees-legend-of-zelda-western

The acting isn't good nor are the costumes, really (I'm forever jaded from Ian Hecox as Link, I admit it), and the entire idea could be executed better, but the very aspect of this just cracks me up, because, at the heart, this is what the games are like to me on some level (and other than video games, I love westerns :D )

Will I ever write a blog entry on anything other than Zelda? I mean to, but I'm FREAKIN' OBSESSED.

High-Fashion And Obligatory Zelda-ness

I realized I have a "couple" video games shirts and decided to take a picture of (mostly) all of them:

The one beside the Skyward Sword tee is the Song of Storms and says "Make It Rain", the one beside that says, "Hyrule Fencing Club: It's Dangerous to Go Alone", and the yellow one with the goomba says "Don't Tread On Me". The GoldenEye one says "Most Deadly". The blue one with the controllers says "Control Freak", and the one beside it has a fairy and says "Hyrule Life Insurance Co.". The cream-colored one says "Zelda is the Girl", and the blue Mario/Yoshi one has Mario saying "Forgive me old friend..." I made the one in the bottom left for a sleep shirt :)

Forgive my unmade bed--it's king-size and I didn't feel like fixing my quilt before I took the picture lol (also, it bothers me that my Skyward strat guide and 3DS are all messy in a lawn chair...don't ask, my cousin did it lol). I have a Paper Mario one I can't find. I didn't even bother trying to get all my Mario PJ bottoms in the shot lol.

My "vintage" Ocarina sweatshirt :D

So...yeah, I have a t-shirt problem apparently lol.

Oh! And I made a meme today (the STAHP ones always crack me up for some reason, so I had to do a Zelda one):

The history of light and shadow will be written in blood...

The Wii U has made me giddy. Have some YouTube in celebration.

Because my lovely Wii U finally arrived today (YAY!--though I haven't even opened the shipping box yet lol) I'm super happy and felt like sharing these two videos from two of my favorites on Youtube:

Oh, and this from Hot Topic (notice, it *was* $2.99 before the sale...):

Lol, how do I haz a sale?

An Evening with Wii U

YAY!!!

So, my lovely Wii U arrived, and my heart was just filled with rainbows. There's nothing like the thrill of setting up a new electronic. Or, how's this for weird, the new plastic smell of them...don't judge. Hooking it up took a considerable amount of time for me, given I had to rework some wires and what not, but it was worth it. Before I get into why it was worth it, lemme say first what made me want to bang the game pad into my head repeatedly during the two hours it took me before I could play. It's not all the Wii U's fault, but here's the adventure.

Yeah. Just have a few wires to juggle... Like the Old Man in A Christmas Story.

You Wanna Know What Really Grinds My Gears?

  • I couldn't get it on the internet. I've had this problem with my Wii (not my 3DS, oddly), so I finally decided to hit the laptop and pull up good ol' "ipconfig/all" and go that way. It worked almost instantaneously. That's not really the Wii U's fault, but still annoying.
  • System Update! All right then. Two episodes of Dick Van Dyke later (I gave up just sitting there waiting), that was done.
  • Dafuq are these stupid messages and drawings all over my screen from people I don't know? This is a little more substantive. I absolutely hate the Wii U menu/interface. First of all, the music sounds like Enya or something, like when on South Park when Stan's grandpa makes him listen to that terrible music to make him understand what being old is like. Like that. I don't like how the game pad, Wii U menu, and Wii menu are all seperated. They should have just kept it to one menu with tiles for each of these things. I realize people with PS3's and Xbox's are probably more into this, as it seems to me to be more similar to their interfaces, but I don't like it. I think the tile system on the Wii was great, and I would think with the advent of everyone having smartphones and tablets (I have a stupid BlackBerry, what's wrong with me, amiright?) with the "apps" the kids these days are using being arranged in the same sort of tile layout as soon as the device comes on, it would make sense for Nintendo to do the same by keeping the old menu at startup. But there again, I'm a curmudgeon.

  • So I was so excited to see there was a relatively simple way to transfer my Wii save files over to my new W--wait...wait what? The Wii U is going to eat my Wii's brains!!! I don't understand why transferring the save files to my Wii U had to result in them being deleted from my Wii. Good grief, wtf? I made a backup copy on a secondary SD card just in case and reloaded them back onto my Wii, but that doesn't help me with my Brawl or Mario Kart file. Nor does it help with my Wii Miis! I probably read they would be deleted but it didn't sink in. I'm really sick over that, as I didn't back them up. And, bonus, during the transfer, after it got stuck downloading a VirtualWare game, my Wii U gave me an error and told me to restart at 73%. At least it picked up where it left off and went smoothly after that. Except for killing my poor Wii. I seriously debated doing the transfer at all. I love my Wii. I love my Wii so much. All the good times we've had...all the laughs, the tears, the glory... Alas:

Apparently

  • I really, really, really hate the Miiverse. This is my biggest complaint, I think. Like, so very, very much. I don't play video games to play Twitter. I don't even have a Twitter. Or a Facebook. What are you bothering me with this mess for? I want to go Goomba stompin', not look at fanart (I especialy dislike the weird Zelda or Mario fanart, because those are my favorites and I don't like sharing them or seeing what other people do to them...). Le'me alone. So I go to NintendoLand (yeah I immediately played the Zelda game), then these sonsaguns are all over my Plaza. GTFO! To be completely fair on this, it's actually a very well-done interface, and I realize everyone but me wanted Nintendo to move in this direction. But I just hate it. If you're not in the room with me, a friend online, or a random competitor that I don't have to listen or talk to, I don't have any interest in interacting with others when I play video games on this pointless level. I put parental controls on myself so I don't hear from anyone.

  • Just another bit about the interface. I'm sure I'll become more accustomed to it, but that's the thing. I didn't have to give my Wii time. The Wii was so simple and sleek. That was part of the charm. I love playing games with my Wii Remote turned sideways like an NES controller. I even play Brawl that way most of the time. I loved Nintendo being bold and cool enough to whip out a new console and the freakin' controller can be an NES controller. Awesome. Perhaps this really is a bias on my part--I like that style. I like mid-century-modern furniture, clean lines, no clutter. I like things organized and concise. The Wii U menu is anything but that. The Wii menu, however, was simple; everything was right there in one place. On the Wii U, if you're playing a Wii game with your Wii remote and want to go to Netflix, you have to exit the Wii menu, get out the game pad, go to the Wii U menu, keep the Miiverse zombies away, then go to Neflix. I know I already hit on this, but this is less about the interface and more about being user friendly. They could have simply added folders like the 3DS menu (which I think could do without the icons across the top) to further organize downloaded games and called it a day. A perfect day. The first square would be for whatever game is inserted, Wii or Wii U (like the Wii had for Wii or GameCube), another square if you want to go to the Miiverse (why?), another square for Mii Maker, or perhaps be able to combine the two into one "Mii Crap" square, and so on and so forth. You could make a "Zelda" or a "Mario" folder if you wanted, or a "Stupid User Warnings and Parental Controls and Other Junk I'll Never Look At" folder. And being able to just use the Wii Remote on its own would be possible if they'd done it this way. Instead, they divided the Miiverse into a menu, the Wii U into a menu, and the Wii into a menu within a menu. One menu, no game pad required!
  • Oh. NintendoLand had to download an update. Wtf...?
  • THERE'S NO KIRBY ATTRACTION AT NINTENDOLAND!

Pikmin? Okay, people love Pikmin...I don't but whatever... Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi all get their own games, and the Mario and Luigi ones are almost the same? Animal Crossing? Now you're just trying to piss me off, neglecting my Kirbster. ...NO STAR FOX EITHER?!

  • NintendoLand froze the second time I played it. Gah. It was kinda hard to tell at first, since the games take so long to load.
  • The controls for the Zelda game in NintendoLand are nice enough and actually require some strategy like Skyward Sword. But don't think it'll be like Skyward Sword. You can't go as fast, recover as quickly, have the actual 1:1 range of moves (they're more horizontal or vertical) or be as accurate. Moving slow works better.
  • The F-Zero racing attraction. Okay. I liked it. I really did. It responds well and is fun. But I don't like the suggestion that I look at the game pad. They are overdoing the game pad. I realize that's the big feature, but look at Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess. They integrated the Wii's big feature, motion controls to, I feel, perfection. I'm a fan of motion controls, but when I say that I mean the early version. I like the 1:1 thing in Skyward Sword. It's fun and adds another dimension, but I like swinging without Link stopping his run in Twilight Princess a lot. ...It's like Optimus Prime at the end of TF3. Awesome. I like playing "It's Our Fight" from the sound track when Link and I are mowing down fools that way (I really did put that in my Let's Play). I enjoy it too much, actually.I kinda just giggle to myself during those sequences. ...Anyway, in SMG and TP, the motion controls were fluid and felt natural. You didn't need to think about them. The game pad feels like it's being forced. Another thing on this is more personal. My dad loved playing Gran Turismo on my original PlayStation because of the throttle being the second control stick and you could adjust the amount of gas you're giving. He was stoked I got a racing game and a controller with dual control sticks. F-Zero Attraction (literally): "Look at the gamepad!" And now wiggle it around. Bummer and a half.
  • The Wii U itself is loud and sounds like my hotter-than-hell laptop's fan spinning crazily when it's switching between things. It's also very slow to switch major applications.
  • The TV screen dims after a period of inactivity. What the hey hey? Stop that.
  • I wish the Deluxe version came in white. I liked the white. I also liked the postion of "Wii" on the game boxes for the Wii on the top right. I also liked the cases for them being white. I don't like the blue (and I don't like blue in general--why, pink, red, gold, white, and black are my favorite colors, thanks for asking); I think it's childish. The half-circle at the top reminds me of the GameCube. Which I hated (I don't like insulting people about their games because I know I hate receiving it, but the GameCube was just not my thing outside of like five games). And it's ironic that they chose to go back to the GameCube box style, since so many hate that GameCube support was dropped. Did I mention I don't like change?
  • I super-hate having to turn the game pad on when I won't be using it (at least I don't think there' s a way around it). They should have made it so you can use the Wii Remote exclusively to start up a game. That's part of downloading a game versus buying a hard copy--you don't have to fool with as much to play. It seems like there's a thousand steps and a mountain of crap you have to sift through to play a game on the Wii U. The game pad should function like the bottom screen on the DS does when you're playing something like New Super Mario Bros. It should be an awesome bonus.

And the way they're abusing this game pad is making me nervous for future titles I'm going to really care about. I don't want to go back to pushing a button to make Link strike. I don't think I can go back, not after...all we've been through. Not anymore, I've closed that chapter of my life...shhh, let's leave it at that, no regrets... Wait, what was I saying? Oh yeah:

I think the game pad should house the HUD, be your radar on multiplayer, show your map and equipment in Zelda--what it should not do is be obtrusive, gimmicky, and an attention-wh*re. My TV shouting at me all the time: "Look at the Game Pad!" **** you! That's like looking at the bat instead of the pitch. I've been trained my whole life to play video games without looking at the controller. I can look down at a strat guide for a map, and the game pad shouldn't require me to look at it any more than that would.

  • Navigating around NintendoLand is clunky. Over-used game pad strikes again. It's better after the tiles to the attractions open and you no longer have to walk to them and hold the game pad up like a moron trying to see the signs over the entrances. But what the eff is this pressing a shoulder button to jump in NintendoLand? You're supposed to press "A" to jump, Nintendo, gahw. First making me look at my controller, then assigning a weird jump button. What are you smoking over there.
  • Monita in NintendoLand. Well well, Nintendo. Hey, why don't you send out a patch to have Fi and Navi and the Mario Party 8 hat guy join her for a group performance?

The Navi my little cousin made me and the fairy in a jar were she should be that I made.

  • They should have called it the "Super Wii". Because that would have been awesome.

So those are my complaints. My top three would be:

1) Hey, you got social media in my video games!

2) They should have stuck with the Wii menu at startup.

3) Game Pad rape.

Why the Wii U is Still Amazingly Awesome. Cos It Is.

I love Cartman, obviously. Fun fact: My mom calls me Cartman, and my dad calls me Sheldon. Actually, not sure how fun that is.

  • The game pad works beautifully. As much grief as I've given it, that is directed only toward its implementation. The device itself has a beautiful screen, is shockingly lightweight but durable, is well-designed and easy to use, and the touch screen is astonishingly responsive, as is the motion sensor.
  • The picture the console displays can make you cry with its beauty. I've played it on two TVs, my lovely and wonderful Panasonic Plasma, and my I-hate-the-friggin-sound-and-its-a-piece-of-crap brand new Toshiba LED TV, and it was amazing on both. The Toshiba has passive 3D on it that I applied to my Wii U, and it was sweeeeet playing in 3D. Looked fantastic.
  • I spent a lot of time at the Zelda attraction (and the sky is blue). It. Is. Really. Good. It really does seem like a ride at a theme park, and hearing the music and seeing the familar areas recreated as "fabric", like a play almost akin to a SMB3, was just great. So creative and well done. It's really deep, too. There's a lot to play through, and you are actually challenged to think about what you're doing and use some skill. The controls aren't on par with Skyward Sword, and sometimes I'd swing and my character wouldn't (and yes, I realize that happens in Skyward Sword, too), but it was still really good and those times of misreading were minor. And moving forward isn't just about hitting some arbitrary high score. The depth to these games really surprised me and I'll play them a lot.
  • The console itself is slick-looking.
  • This one I think is very important: You can use your Wii's RCA cable on the Wii U. This is great if you have an older TV (I almost had to use an older one when my Panasonic went doody--but has since, probably temporarily, come back to life...friggin' love this TV, it's like the NES), but I was worried about my Dazzle. I needn't worry more! Nintendo also did a solid by making the Wii cable compatible and not making me buy anything new. I remember those RF switch days. Channel 3. My dad finding out an RF switch had to be bought to make my NES usable on my TV and saying to the clerk, "Oh, of course, they want to make you buy more." I don't want to do that again. No sir, no thank you.
  • I despise the Miiverse. However, I'm sure I'm the only one. I mean, I hate it with a burning passion, but I bet y'all like it. And I give props to Nintendo for listening and including it. The Nintendo Network and adding friends is amazingly well done. I like this inclusion, and again, kudos to Nintendo for coming to the front with this.
  • You can play Wii games and access your good old Wii Menu. Imagine how riled I'd be if they'd skipped the Wii Menu entirely. I love that my old remotes work on it. Because I love my Wii. So much.
  • Brawl. Looked. Awesome.
  • Syncing Wii Remotes: Easy as bread sandwiches. Bonus if you know what game that's from.
  • There's a lot of care put into the console. I can't quantify that, really. It's just Nintendo magic. It's about what's in here that counts. *fairy dust*

I would say that about sums it up, really. For my grumblings, I still adore this thing and I'm so glad I've got one. Just the pack-in game proves why I'm a Nintendo fangirl. When I get Mario U, I'll be hopelesslly in love. Hope I didn't get too crazy for you guys (little punch drunk writing this lol). I'd love to hear what you all think of your Wii U's!!!

I can't describe how happy this makes me.

And please look at http://www.ign.com/blogs/unoclay1/2012/11/20/a-big-crybaby-lists-things-hed-change-about-wii-u/, where unoclay1 wrote a much more professional piece earlier :)

ETA: I forgot to mention a completely awesome feature: The Wii U demonstrated talking to my 3DS, and it worked without a flaw. It was also just cool as heck. The Wii U asked if I wanted to retrieve my Mii from my 3DS instead of making one, and a few taps on my 3DS later, my 3DS Mii now also lives on my Wii U. The functionality of the Wii U and the 3DS complimenting each other implemented from the get-go was really awesome.

It's Stealing My Soul!

So...did some shopping:

I'm so happy to have a Kirby shirt that words cannot express it. Bonus: I bought two of the Ocarina shirts so I could make one of them into a ballet-neck. I'm beyond help.

Okay, this isn't my fault. Look at him...who could resist that little face?! And the keychain was half-price. (The lanyard you may see on my phone back there I've had for a while, so it doesn't count...even though it came from Hot Topic...)

And just for lulz, here's another great Hot Topic sale...

The thing is, I don't even like going in Hot Topic, even though the employees are always nice. I don't buy anything but game stuff there (except some Elvis or Marilyn stuff), but...omg their game stuff is so great. But I feel it may steal my soul:

You may have noticed my bedroom looking kinda jacked up. Here's why: You know what else is awesome? Not the new Glade candles:

Also not cool: Magic Eraser--that's why it's splotchy. So I had to repaint my bedroom ceiling and walls. There was soot everywhere. I didn't even notice the stupid thing was sooting, until I got in the shower and the lather from my shampoo was black, then I looked at my clothes and saw they were covered. WTF Glade. Bonus: I had to move everything out of my room to paint, so luckily I had just rigged up all my systems and Wii U and everything. ...SRSLY WTF GLADE.

And that's the story of why I haven't been very active on here lately: Hot Topic has been stealing my soul, Glade had been ruining my house...and maybe cos Adventure Time marathons or whatevs... Oh! I also finally saw Wreck-It Ralph! It was good--not quite everything I hoped for, but still good :)

Finally Doing A Question Blog--Ask Away

I've been working on a blog of my game collection, but until it's complete, I thought I'd try one of these. I never really introduced myself when I first started here, and I fgured this would be a good way to do so at this point. One thing: though I've read them, I've been horrible about thinking of questions for others' blogs, so if you want to forgive me this (and if some of you enjoy doing this type of thing anyway), fire away in the comments, all questions appreciated. And in all honesty, it's that "Tell us about yourself!" period in some of my classes this semester, and this will probably help me think of something different to say :D .

And this. Because Lemon Grab cracks me up.

Historia! (And yay for shopping!)

$

I got my Hyrule Historia today! This thing is really, really amazing. I have to admit, I was made a little nervous when I heard there was actually going to be a book in the US about the whole Zelda storyline. For them to say, "Look here: This is how it it, this is gospel, and if you had anything else in mind since you were in kindergarten, screw you, this is it!"

That was completely not the case. The approach Nintendo takes in the book is like they're just trying to piece together the legend as best they know how, and they preface it all by saying, "You know what? This could be entirely wrong. It could change entirely. Actually, yeah, whatever. Think whatever you want. Here's one way it could have all gone down. And, honestly, it's not all that important. Have fun playing a video game." It's so genius! They frame nearly everthing with a "Could it be that...?" or "Some say..." or "It's thought...", things like that, like they point out the Timeshift stones in SS and the material of the Ocarina look similar and say, "Could they be made out of the same thing?" Nothing is set in stone. It makes the whole series just feel that much more epic, like it really is this amazing legend going on that Nintendo is trying to figure out. And they take nothing away from fans that may have toiled for years, filling the story in, in their own ways. One of the biggest reasons I'm a Nintendo fan is they way they treat their fans. They know what we want, they try to please us all, and they truly just want us to enjoy their games and appreciate us playing them.

Or: "Lulz, we dunno."

Historia certainly supports my positon of Nintendo loving their fans. Story aside, the artwork they share...wow. They have notes and pictures of pretty much everything (I was going fast and only noted one thing missing: the super hot magic armor; I didn't see it, but I'm not certain it's not in there). It's amazing to see their thought processes for each game and how much attention and love they put into what they're doing. And (fantaffx will maybe appreciate this), reading the manga was a lot of fun! The drawings were really beautiful, and it was an interesting story, which I shan't spoil. I'll share this, though (sorry my scanner isn't hooked up at the moment, so I just took a snapshot:)

Dude...what...

...dude. Holy abs, Batman.

I'm sure the guys enjoyed that. Strangely, this is what stood out to me the most...*ahem*. I was going to take more pictures, but I didn't wanna spoil it.

Also, as some of you may know, I'm a shopping addict.

From top to bottom, left to right: Zelda bag, three freakin Zelda wallets (Why? Because they were there, and I had Hot Topic coupons), plushie Kirby (!!!), Adventure Time socks (I was wearing the LSP ones lol), I FINALLY got a gold remote, a shield and master sword necklace (the sword is actually sharp to be used as a letter-opener), a Lumpy Space Princess lanyard that says "Don't lumping yell at me", a sleepy Finn, and my custom-made iPhone case, with the lanyard I added (I edited the gold into the picture and had someone make it is all lol).

I nearly forgot about my Finn earrings, cos I was wearing them lol.

Pardon the reflection of the TV. I've been having the worst time trying to decide what posters to frame. Obviously, Pit was an easy choice. I got three variations of the two unframed pictures at the bottom (the other is Link on his loftwing, but I friggin' hate flying the loftwing--the seller threw it in as a bonus though). I only had one frame to fit, so I elected to frame the one on the left, so I still have to get a frame for the one on the right. I got the 25th Anniversary Zelda set from Nintendo, as well as the Platinum set. The Zelda poster in the Platinum set was basically the same as one of the ones in the Anniversary set. I have the one from the anniversary set of all the characters still rolled up (I dunno, I didn't particularly wanna look at good ol' Groose all the time, or sad Zelda lol--still a beautiful poster), so I framed the one of just Ghirahim, Link, and Fi. Then I saw this all gold one of just Link and Fi, and wound up with three posters of Link in the same pose. I happened to like the one of just Link and Fi. I dunno, I just like it the best...just Link and his peace-maker...heh.

So, that is all I have for now. I just wanted anyone that is one the fence about Historia (which I know probably isn't that many of you) or those that just wanted to hear a little about it to get some info. I'll do the answers to my question blog ASAP (feel free to continue to comment if you want, here) . I'm also still going through pictures to try and find one specific one to go with my game collection blog, because, like, it makes a huge difference (not really, I just want to use it).

If anyone else got Historia or is going to, I'd love to hear what you thought about it!

Windows 8. Wow.

So, I saw a computer that was an awesome deal, and my mom surprised me with it:

Yaaay! It's 8GB RAM, 1TB hardrive, so I was pumped to upgrade from 6GB and 500GB. My three-year old HP has been nothing but problems, yet it's awesome at the same time. I don't know how to explain, but it's love hate hate hate, I suppose.

The frame around the screen nearly came off when I removed the protector. Should have been a sign lol (good ol' HP). It's a really nice computer, really. But omg, Windows 8. Omg. And, lucky me, this doesn't have Windows 8 Pro, so it will cost me to downgrade. I immedately disabled the "iPhone-like" touchpad (zoom in and out with two fingers), because it made scrolling way hard. It's also not quite as nice a model as my old computer. But it *is* a great computer. And unlike my old one, it doesn't sound like an overheating jet engine or, at best, a lawmower. The new one runs really well, stays cool, and is crazy fast. I still don't know if I'll keep it or not, just because my old one has some awesome stuffs I'm so used to. My dad asked how I liked it, and I told him the new computer is like a new Camry, let's say, and my old one is a 10-year old Mercedes. I had both of my parents mess around with the new one, and they seem to agree. I'm still not sure (so throw opinions my way!). I'm so used to this old roaring monster:

Can you hear the fan whirlling from there?

This one has a remote, Blu-Ray, and touch buttons for the volume, play, pause, etc.. I like the volume settings that way much better. And the keyboard is normal, whereas the new one has, I forget what they're called, but the keys are shallow...which I guess is better. But it's different. We all know how I feel about different XD . But, this old guy is really no longer a laptop, as I have to have it hooked up to my external harddrive and an external fan all the time or it'll blow.

Anywho, even though I still have to do my answers blog to the questions you guys were nice enough to ask, I guess I just wanted to babble about this here since I'm trying to decide if I wanna keep the new puppy or not. Feel free to tell me what you think I should do/if you hate Windows 8 etc. :)

...Did I just make a blog without Zelda stuff?! Ha! Wait, the background on my computer. Ah, so close.

Random lol

I realize this would be easy to do on purpose, but I swear I didn't.

Sometimes, my old iPod nano does this random thing if it hasn't been synced in a while where it will get the artwork for albums mixed up. Like, there will be a Frank Sinatra album cover displayed during "Jailhouse Rock" or something. I assign album names to tracks that don't have an album so that I can create smart playlists, and then I assign pictures to albums I create (llike a picture of Kirby for the album "Kirby"). Well, just now it happened to get my "Zelda" album artwork crossed with my "Best of Bond" album:

Well that's appropriate. Probably kinda funnier that it left off the word "Service". Made me lol, so I thought I'd share :D

I was just listening to some stuff, and thought, "Hey, why not share?" So here are a few songs for your consideration/enjoyment.

My absolute favorite Sinatra song.

Any potential husband that may ever see this: This will be our wedding song. Deal.

...*incoherent babble* This is the cut from a movie.

And this, just because it's hilarious. Dean didn't rehearse his show much, and to watch him and Sinatra cut up is great.

Also great: Bing Crosby

I love Elvis movies and I'm not ashamed.

Ricky Nelson--yayz.

The first song I ever heard Dean Martin sing :) This is the album cut, rather than the Rio Bravo movie cut. Fun fact: The horse in most of the shots is actually his own horse, Topps, that he trained to trick ride etc. (His Epona. What? I had to get it in there somewhere, right?)

One Small Wish for Wind Waker HD

I love Skyward Sword. I love Ocarina of Time 3D. I love Twilight Princess. All right, haters, lemme alone :P . Obviously, I like where Nintendo's been going with the Zelda franchise.

So, I got to thinking about the upcoming rerelease of WW. If I could ask for one thing I'd like to see in the Wind Waker HD remake, what would it be? The missing dungeons? Seeing the graphics updated to HD with a Skyward Sword-esque bent? You all probably know I don't really put forth myself what I'd like to see in my "dream" Zelda game or even discuss others' ideas too much. I usually just like whatever Nintendo does and haven't really been disapopinted, honestly, from the get-go as far as new ideas and it fitting into my idea of the story. No, I just take what comes and am grateful for such games, and feel I couldn't truly offer a suggestion to develop a better one. But this one, this one idea of mine...oh, this one.

"They should bring mullet Link back..." I thought to myself. Then inspiration:

"No! I got it...they should give TOON Link a mullet in Wind Waker HD..."

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd go to Mullet Toon Link's party in the back.

One day I'll write a real blog. One day. Maybe.

Yes. I watch home shopping channels.

I just wanted to give a heads up to some people that are looking to get some games but want to maybe space out the cash flow. QVC.com (yeah the home shopping channel) has this thing called "Easy Pay". New customers can use it without a credit check or anything. You just need a credit card and a phone number.

What they do with Easy Pay is add up the cost of the item, shipping, and if there's any sales tax in your state. They divide the total by however many payments the item is on (it could be anywhere from 2-6). So if the total is $20 and it's on 5 easy payments, you just pay $4 at the time.

They ship it to you immediately, and each month charge your card $4 until it's paid off. It's not layaway, since you get the item for the first payment in about a week. You also have 30 days to return the item, even used (return shipping deducted from your refund, or you can pay to send it back yourself--unless it's defective, in which case, they'll pay to return it).

Tomorrow, everything will be on easy pay (I'm not sure how many, it used to be 5 payments, but I think recently they've knocked it down to 3). They sell games and systems, so I just wanted y'all to know about it.

I will say, they put the systems in bundles and you have to pay shipping, so it winds up being more expensive than just buying it all at once at the store (I think their Wii U Delux bundle is like $500, but the games are normal cost mostly). If you're dying for a certain game or new system and just can't justify paying full price up front right, though, maybe it'll be worth it to you. If you're interested, I'd say get your shopping done at midnight EST, because they get busy and sell stuff out really fast (I speak from experience; my mom's been doing this since 1986).

They also have philosophy beauty and jammies and it's the best thing the world to get a box full of bubble bath, new jammies, and a new game...probably just me though. *zomgstuffonsalefullgirlmodeactivate*

I just wanted to apologize in advance for missing blogs and whatnot. I'm probably not going to be on here much the next couple days. My cousin just died of a heart attack suddenly--he was 38 and had a five year old daughter. We're kinda torn up right now and are going to be a little busy.

Hug your family.

Thank you!

You lovely people, you.

I wanted to drop in and say THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for being so awesome. You have no idea how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my cousin Jamie. I've missed you guys the last week, and though we still have a lot of family around and are going lots of places, I can't wait to get caught up with your blogs and all.

I have to say, you dear people here just blow my mind. You're the best on the net; we really are like a community here. For instance, I checked my YouTube page today as well, and I have uploaded Twilight Princess cutscenes with the Magic Armor in them, because I like it and no one else had. I got a "LOL you had to wear fancy armor to beat the game! I beat it with the wooden shield XD". Really, dude? Cracked me up because there is no gameplay, just the cutscene and he missed the point lol. Never ceases to amaze me how some people take time out of their day to be asses. Especialy when, as I'm reminded this past week, life can be so short, as well as you never know what someone (whom you're being an ass to) may be going through. But then I come here and I just cannot believe how incredibly caring and sweet you guys are. I was happy to show my family all the sweet comments you guys left and they were blown away that you'd all take the time to comment and be so caring. You may not realize how things like that can help. Especially when some of my best memories with Jamie involve renting like twenty games from BlockBuster and him and his brother spending the night hogging my NES to play them with my dad XD (I kid, they'd help me play, too).

If you're interested, I'll explain quickly a bit of my family. My mother's family is where Jamie belongs. Her older sister Pam has three boys: Jamie, Jeremiah, and Jonathan. Their father died less than a year ago, which is another reason Jamie's sudden passing was so sad. I said Jamie was 38 in my original post, but I mispoke and put Jer's age (forgive me, I was writing kinda quickly). Jamie was 40, Jer 38, and Jonathan 31. They were born waaay before me ;) . (Btw, I'm an only child...and carry on the "J" theme by being named Jennifer lol). Jamie was married and had Olivia, 5. She's the real sad part about this :( . Jer is married and has Gavin 12, Ezra 8, and Ellie 5. Me and Jonathan are losers and don't have any kids LOL (I kid, I kid, we're not losers; Jonathan is married, though). My mom (Cathy) and dad (Lynn) met in fifth grade and have been married since they were 20, so my dad is really close with my mom's family as well. Oliva and Ellie are so close. I'm really glad Oliva has her to play with. Jamie's funeral was so extremely sad, but Ellie and Oliva were seperated out at it, which I was glad about. Jer didn't have Jamie in a suit--he was in his football jersey and ball cap :) . Jamie had had a cough and went to the doctor beforehand. He coughed so hard he developed an aneurysm which caused everything. Well, anyway, now you kinda know who your prayers are helping and we all thank you.

So, again, a thousand times, thank you. We're still running back and forth so I don't have too much time at the moment to get caught up. My mom and I are going down tomorrow to get with my aunt and go with her to the kids' soccer games and just be together. My dad's dad is having surgery on the 23rd on the artery in his neck because it's 80% blocked, so I'll also probably be away a bit while he recovers from that. So funny: my dad asked him, "What exactly did the doctors say that would help?" Meaning, would he still get dizzy spells afterwords etc. My grandfather responded, "It'll help me not have a damn stroke." LOL. Anywho, so many things going on! And I appreciate you guys so much.

And, hey, Gavin and I saw the Nintendo Direct (he's my personal little buddy lol--I was happy to watch that with him to take his mind off Jamie). So some cheering up:

Very excited

Major hugs to all you guys!!!!

Toys are meant to be played with! Except collectible ones?

So, I like buying toys. Don't judge. I got this darling:

I can't decide whether to open it or not! I really, really want to. I think I can open it without destroying the packaging. I'm actually generally pretty good at that (I usually keep the packaging for important things even if I open them). So...I'm probably going to open it, but I want opinions from you guys! Open it or leave it "collectible"? What should I do?!

Poor Link...He's been in there since 1998...He looks like he wants a hug...

Also: Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts both were half-price today.

Don't go having a sale around me, I will take advantage of it. Two Java Chip Frappucinos with a shot of esspresso (one empty--mine), one Strawberries and Creme (empty--my mom's), four Mocha Swirl Lattes, one Duncaccino, The ones that aren't empty will go to the fridge to be reheated throughout the week. I shop super cereal, you guise.

Anywho...does anyone want to validate my desire to hug keychain Link, or do I leave him trapped? [Insert Ocarina/7 years analogy]

Finally!!! I know you've all been waiting it absolute bated breath! *...ahem* Thanks to all who asked stuff, and I hope I answered sufficiently :)

fantaffx

Do you love Metroid? If you answered no, why not?!

I do love Metroid!

What is the game you are most proud of owning?

I love all my games, really. I love my whole collection. Maybe I should say I have two copies of Skyward Sword, one sealed. Why? I don't know. *ahem* I have a problem. I will unseal it though to get the registration code out of it come July.

Dream job?

Movie star. I say movie star, not actress, because I mean like Marilyn Monroe or Lana Turner or Ginger Rogers—back when we just had awesome *stars* not “artists”. I like the “studio system” in Old Hollywood. If I wanted to answer this all out, I'd say I'd like to be half of a Hollywood power couple, like Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart or Lucy and Desi.

What more can I do to convince you to read more comics? =P

You already write awesome blogs that convince me—I just have to sit down and read some. Hey, the manga in Hyrule Historia is a good step, right?

Battlestriker123

What colors do you think unicorns poop?

I…I haven’t thought about it. Glitter?

What's your favorite type of zebra?

The kind without stripes. Yeeeah.

Why are Kirby games so much fun?

Because he’s more than you think—he’s got maximum pink.

TheJis

What is your favorite Adventure time ep?

I really love Vault of Bones, Gotcha, Still, and Wizard Battle. There’s so many I enjoy: Little Dude, Simon & Marcy, Too Young, Storytelling, Dad’s Dungeon, You Made Me, Belly of the Beast, City of Thieves, The Lich, Finn the Human/Jake the Dog, Another Way, Paper Pete, Enchiridion, Slumber Party Panic, Beyond This Earthly Realm, Henchman, Dungeon, Finn Meets His Hero, Princess Cookie, Loyalty to the King, Blood Under the Skin, The Real You, Silent King…Okay, I’m stopping now….

Who is your favorite character?

LSP! And Finn :D

Kasumi_

Who are the top five studliest video game characters of all time, in your opinion?

Well, I don’t have much experience with games outside of Nintendo, so I’ll say Link, Link, Link, Link, and if Pit ever grew up, probably Pit lol. But hey, I don’t mean to sell Mario short. He’s reliable, knows a trade (or two), and collects a good amount of coins. Don’t overlook Mario, ladies.

What's your favorite Pokémon type?

I don’t play Pokémon, so I have no clue lol.

What's your favorite color?

Pink, Gold, Red, Black, and White. I can have that many, can’t I?

Who's the most badass female character in video game history?

Pft, that’s easy. Peach. C’mon, it’s obvious. Look at what all she can get Mario to do for her with her good nature and charm, yet she rules her own kingdom on her own. That’s girl power, guise! And she stays true to herself. She doesn't have to be all "Grr, look at me, I can be a man!" I also like Zelda, Samus, and Daisy.

RyanPalmer

Can you eat just one Doritos chip?

Yeah, now I can, since they quit making the Buffalo Ranch ones >:| Well, they make them in that yucky “thick” formula now, but that’s lame.

Fuzzy socks or barefoot?

Fuzzy socks all the way! I’m a junky for house shoes and fluffy socks :D

The best chick flick of all time?

I tend to really, really, really hate chick flicks. I prefer Transformers and James Bond, myself. That being said, if I want a sappy movie, I defer to the lovely Lana Turner with things like “Madame X” or “Imitation of Life”.

Who does your nails?

Me :D . Manicure places scare me. My grandmother used to own a salon and teach cosmetology at a cosmetology college, but she lives in FL, so it’s all me. I actually do some neat stuff sometimes, like Bumblebee or Optimus or Ironhide nails.

Are dinosaurs awesome?

In comics when they make fun of T-Rex’s, yes.

I can't be your friend if you answer the last question incorrectly =)

Well I said yes!

ponkilo

If you had to choose, hats or scarfs?

I don’t wear either, really, but I’ll go with scarves because you can use them for so many things, like skirts etc..

What game have you spent the most time playing?

Of all time, probably GoldenEye N64 or Super Mario 64. Close behind would be the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World. I’ve also sunk more time into Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword than I care to admit.

Do you dance? and if so describe it!

I spent years in dance classes and doing competitive cheerleading, so yeah. Describe it? Well my cheer coach announced one day when I was about 12, “Jen’s going to be a stripper when she grows up, I swear.” So I tend to refrain lol.

Which fictional character from a game or book do you look up to?

Link :D . Have I mentioned Link enough in this yet? Also Peach and Zelda. And technically, Rooster Cogburn was in a book before “True Grit” was a movie (and I’m talking the JOHN WAYNE movie), so him. I’m just all over the place, huh? There are a lot of characters in movies I like.

What makes you grin like an idiot?

Oh, lots of things. Usually thinking about people or old times :)

Acrterran

What Game series (5 years since last release) would you like to see resurrected?

F-Zeroooooo!

Least favorite Nintendo franchise?

Mm…I don’t expressly really dislike any of them, so I could go with something obscure like Ice Climbers I guess. In order not to cop out, I’ll say Pikmin. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not my style.

Proudest gaming achievement?

Skyward Sword. Lanayru’s boss rush. Hero Mode. BOOM.

Favorite movie?

The Quiet Man, with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. Also: El Dorado, Rio Bravo, Cannonball Run II (yes really), Who’s Got The Action, Ocean’s 11 (original), Transformers Dark of the Moon, Young Frankenstein, Tangled, Kiss Me Stupid (very dirty movie starring Dino as "himself"--the trailer had an adults only warning before there were ratings XD; ah, the good old days when "dirty" and sex and all was so clever...) and lots of others because I love movies.

dillaweezer

What do you like most about MyIGN?

The people :D

fliadaloisio

What´s the meaning of that face? :P

Tongue sticking out… I guess that depends on the situation, huh? Being playful, mostly, I think.

JoseOmatic

What's your favorite non Nintendo franchise or what is one you've always wanted to play?

Really, I can’t think of one. I don’t feel like I’m missing out, or else I would own another brand system.

Siphen

What is your ideal hero in general?

John. Freakin. Wayne. Part American cowboy, part old Hollywood, all man. Seriously. I freakin' love John Wayne. A lot. Also, Optimus Prime. Fun fact: Optimus's voice was based on John Wayne's so double win. And they used sound bites from the Duke in the first and third recent Transformers movies. Triple win.

chilidog

Why did you join My IGN? Anything in particular?

Because I love video games. I made an account to comment on the articles, then stumbled into MyIGN.

oreofestsar

will you buy a next gen console at launch and if so which?

I already bought a Wii U at launch :D I don't foresee buying a PS4 or Xbox 720

if you could only buy 3 games in 2013 what would they be?

Wind Waker, for sure. I’m not sure what all will be out this year, but I still need to pick up Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon and NSMBWU, but technically that’s 2012. Anything that has Mario, Zelda, or Kirby in it, I’m in.

if you can choose any character to be in the next ssb who would you choose?

Meaning one that’s never been in it before? Probably Rosalina or Daisy.

what do you think was the best game of this generation?

Mario Galaxy 2, as well as Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword (I'd toss Twilight Princess in there as well, because it just comes alive on the Wii)

Do you feel the videogame violence debate is stupid or something important?

Stupid.

what do you think is the most underrated game ever?

Of all time…Of ALL time (/end Kanye) hm…this is too hard. Link’s Crossbow Training IS AWESOME!

Any games that you wished you played but didn't?

I never played Oracle of Seasons or Oracle of Ages (and only played Link's Awakening a little; I've caught up since)…so naturally I can’t wait now that they're in the eShop :D

which are you more excited for Pokémon x/y or project x zone?

I don’t know what Project X Zone is…so Pokémon X/Y…even though I don’t play Pokémon lol.

Do you play any sports and if you do which?

I used to play more than I do now. I love slow-pitch softball and played it all my life, and also coached it. I was also a cheerleader from preschool up through high school, and did it on the community squad, school squad, and competitive squad, then the community squad went competitive, too—so I did a lot of cheering lol. I didn’t really actually love it all that much. My heart belongs on the diamond :) I also like to attempt golf and other stuff like that there XD

How long have yo been a gamer?

Since I was big enough to hold a controller. Seriously, like from the age of two with help from my dad and uncle.

What is your favorite video game series and why?

Ooo, don’t do this to me…I’m going to say both Mario and Zelda. I like them both for pretty much the same reasons. I love the characters. I care about what happens to them, and I have since I first met them on the NES and on their awesome cartoons. The games also don’t disappoint me (few exceptions). Even if I like some games better than others, that’s like liking some John Ford movies better than others. They’re all good and set the standard. I also like that they’re traditional in their stories, both traditional unto their own storylines as well as traditional in the context of society. Nintendo is like the 50’s. Yeah.

do you have valuable collector's items and if you do which?

Valuable, I’m not certain. As far as dollar value, the Club Nintendo rewards would probably fetch the most on eBay. I do love my “real” Master Sword :D

your greatest gaming achievement in life?

Skyward Sword. Lanayru’s boss rush. Hero Mode. BOOM. …Did I say that already?

your greatest general achievement in life?

I’m still young! I guess my academic record is decent enough, and I’m not a prostitute XD

what is your opinion on sex in games?

I don’t need to see it, thanks. Well, maybe Link and Zelda can kiss a little…Wait what now?

how do you feel about violent games?

Again, I don’t need it. Look at the games I like and it’s pretty clear I don’t gravitate toward it. I’m the same way with movies. I know I’ve talked about this before, but John Wayne (the Duke is the center of my universe) talked about violence and sex in movies going into the 70’s and about how it was mostly gratuitous and unnecessary. Audiences can use their imagination and don’t need to see brains and blood go everywhere. I wouldn’t mind some intense moments in Zelda in the right context, but I don’t think I would ever actually like to see much (if any) blood.

do you think some kids (being anyone 16 and under) should be able to play m games?

They should be able to play whatever their parents want to let them play. I started watching South Park with my mom when I was like 9 (she’d watch first and know when to mute things). Also loved to watch Die Hard and Bond movies. I was taught well-enough to be able to handle it. That’s the key right there, because most kids are going to run into something even if they don’t mean to and even if their parents ban it. It’s not that they’re necessarily going to sneak and play a banned game or something, but they’re going to be faced with what the ban is trying to shield them from at some point. They need to be taught how to process it correctly.

What do you think are your best personality traits?

Erm, I’d rather leave that to others to decide. I think I’m an okay gal :)

CharbroiledEwok

How did you decide on your username? Does it have any significance (e.g., are you really a big fan of Dino)?

I chose it with very little thought lol. I chose to include Dino because, indeed, I’m a huge fan. I figured that it would be pretty obvious that I like video games already by virtue of being on MyIGN, so I went with something from my other passion; old entertainment.

Carbon_KO

How old are you?

A lady never tells! I can legally drink, how about that? Not that I look like it…I get asked all the time, “What grade are you in?” *facepalm*

Where do you go to school?

I go to college about 20 mins from home :)

Any siblings?

Nope, only child

Hobbies other than gaming?

I love old movies and music. I also like to sew, play around on the internet (write some stuff sometimes), and I love hanging with my little cousins. Also, I have a shopping problem.

Favorite Disney song?

Tell any funny jokes lately?

Why did the rapper carry an umbrella? Fo' drizzle. *ba dum tsst!*

What kind of game would you make?

A Zelda one. I know that’s not a great answer, but give me free reign on a Zelda game…ooh.

BlackArachnid41

1.) What is your name?

Jennifer. It’s pronounced “JEH nih fur”. I know it’s unique and you’ve probably never heard it, so I just wanna help you out :P

2.) Out of all the Nintendo consoles, which is your favorite?

The Wii! I’m hoping the Wii U overtakes it :D . Next would be the N64, then the SNES.

3.) Out of all the Zelda games, which is your favorite?

Twilight Princess! Skyward Sword is right there behind it.

4.) What is your favorite non-Nintendo game franchise?

Erm…I don’t think I have one lol.

5.) What is your favorite color?

Pink, Gold, Red, Black, and White.

6.) Favorite book?

Hyru—wait…

7.) Favorite book besides Hyrule Historia? =P

This will sound silly, but I love the entire (original) Nancy Drew series :D

8.) Favorite movie?

The Quiet Man

9.) What is your opinion of Bon Jovi?

He's fine. Not what I listen to, so I can't voice a real opinion.

10.) Favorite music artist?

Dean Martin! Also: Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis, Elvis, Louis Armstrong, Ricky Nelson, Doris Day, Geri Halliwell (heck yeah).

11.) Favorite food?

Coffee. Is that a food?

12.) Before you first read Hyrule Historia, what did you think was the timeline of the Zelda franchise?

I have to say, I wasn’t too far off (and you’re in for a treat because I don’t generally discuss Zelda lore!). When Ocarina of Time came out, I, for some reason, regarded it as a reboot. I put everything made before it in a section by itself. I also separated out Toon Link. I kinda disregarded 4 Swords because to me they were more like including Mario Party in the Mario Timeline or something. So I did a decent job, I'd say. I did miss the order slightly in my “originals” timeline—I didn’t really realize they were made out of what the order wound up being (didn't catch that ALttP should be first, but I see now how that makes perfect sense).

13.) Do you enjoy watching anime?

I keep trying to get more into it.

14.) If so, what is your favorite anime?

I still know not yet.

15.) Is your refrigerator running?

Shall I catch it?

16.) Can a 5 ounce swallow carry a 1 pound coconut? 17.) What if two swallows carried it together? 18.) Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

^^^Lmao

19.) Favorite dessert?

Tiramisu. I freakin’ love coffee.

20.) What is the one thing you want to do the most before kicking the bucket?

How’s this for sappy: Get married and have a family. Pft, inorite? Other than that, be, like, a famous film icon. No biggies.

21.) What is your life's dream?

See above. I’ve always wanted to be like Lucy & Desi or Bogie & Bacall or June Allison & Dick Powell or Marilyn & Joe DiMaggio or Cary Grant & Sophia Loren (even though they weren’t married)…That kinda combines the two things I want together lol. I really admire Lucille Ball, in all seriousness, as well as Jane Russell.

22.) What are the top 5 things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Video games, music, movies, cartoons, shopping. I enjoy all of those more with my little cousins around.

23.) What is your first thought whenever you look into the stars?

That God is amazing, then I think about how some of them don’t even actually exist anymore and we’re still seeing their light. Awesome.

24.) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Besides back in time? Vegas, Palm Springs, Hollywood, Ireland.

25.) From where do you hail?

TN :D

26.) Excuse me your majesty, but may I have this dance? =3

*Extends hand...trips*  Whoops, I got it.

27.) How many bottled fairies do you tend to go through during your average playthrough of a Zelda game?

Kinda depends on the game and if I’m “experimenting” with techniques or not (or how careful and “professional” I’m being). I know that I always have more than I use. Also, I didn’t use all that many fairies in Skyward Sword, because they only replaced 6 hearts, which seemed like less. I had never used potions (or milk) until SS…which I think was their intent.

28.) Who is your favorite racer on F-Zero?

I have to go with Captain Falcon (I tend to like the stars). He’s just so kewl.

29.) Favorite moment from a video game?

30.) What is your favorite RPG?

The Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario series

31.) How big is your game collection?

Decent sized, I think. Others have way bigger collections, but I only buy Nintendo and mostly Nintendo first-party titles. Given that, it’s pretty big.

32.) What is your favorite song?

Simpatico by Dean Martin

33.) What thing gives you the most nostalgia?

Oh dear…smells, a lot of the time. Also early 90’s stuff. Summer and Christmas, as well.

34.) What is the story behind your username?

I <3 Dean Martin. Also, I was just trying to pick something quickly lol.

35.) What are your biggest pet peeves?

Snoring. People making noise when they eat or yawn or chew gum. People not washing their hands…People, maybe? LOL

36.) What is your quest?

To be a good princess XD

37.) What is your favorite Pokemon?

I’m going with Pikachu. I’ve always thought he was cute. I even had a little Pikachu virtual pet. And a boy at school gave me his Pikachu card one time because I said I liked him. Pikachu, I mean. Oh dear, I hope that boy understood that was what I meant...O.o

38.) Is the cake really a lie?

Nope. Never.

39.) Favorite meme?

Ohhhh I love memes, this is hard. I’ll just say I probably like Rage Comics the best.

40.) Did you enjoy my questions?

Thoroughly, my good sir, thank you :D

Well there we go, all. I'm sorry it took me so long to answer these--I've had so much going on. Thanks for reading, everyone :)

Happy Birthday to Moi!

So, tis my birthday today, and I wanted to show off a couple trinkets I got:

birthday

The "purity" on top is makeup cleanser so just ignore that lol, and ignore the Wii U gamepad because I've happily had that since November 18th :D . Got a pro controller (since I can't just use my GameCube on on the Wii U). Steeldiver was marked down to $10 at Kmart, so why not. But YAY I finally got NSMBU, which I'm playing and really enjoying. I haven't played DKCR or Luigi's Mansion yet, but I'm super excited to. I also got the little Sticker Star display thingy just because (I love getting stuff like that). I also got the TableMate that it's all sitting on, by the by. I haven't had my "party" yet, so sadly I have no pictures of balloons. My apologies. I've always loved having my birthday on 6/26 because it's perfect distributed in relation to Christmas lol. Also, Big Brother debuted today and I'm so excited to watch it. I feel no shame in this admission. XD

In other news: You know your baby cousin is growing up when this comes on the screen and he immediately starts laughing at how dirty this sounds. Sadly, I have imparted this sort of sense of humor/thinking to him. He took a picture of this with his phone because it cracks us up: SSphonecheckThis. This right here. This is part of why he and I love Zelda. For the record, he also informed me that he feels Orielle is the prettiest girl in Skyloft, prettier than Zelda, and when she tells Link his uniform looks handsome, he feels Link missed an opportunity. My baby cousin, ladies and gentlemen.

Okay, got some new games and included some Zelda stuff. My blog is complete. I'm going to go play the Master Quest on Ocarina of Time 3D now. Yes I realize I have two new 3DS games to play since I completed Phantom Hourglass last night/this morning. I'm still gonna play the Master Quest (and Skyward Sword with my cousin). I cannot explain my logic; it's a summer tradition thing. You just don't question summer traditions.
